Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated a two-day 'Maitree' programme of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Alumni (Decadal Chapter of 90s) here today. He also inaugurated the International Chapter of 'Maitree'. The Chief Minister also recalled his University days which helped him building edifice of his political career.
He assured that the State Government would explore the possibilities of conducting Students Central Association (SCA) elections in HPU and the discussions were being held with the University authorities in this regard.
The government was working to make Himachal a self-reliant state and numerous steps were being taken to improve the quality of education in all the government-run institutions. The government has initiated English medium in government schools starting from class one. Apart from this, Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding Schools were coming up in all 68 assembly constituencies of the state in a phased manner which would provide state-of-the-art facilities to the students.
He said that the Government mulls to bring innovative changes in the higher education sector based on modern teaching technologies so that every student could derive maximum benefit out of it. He also urged the students be noble and responsible citizens of the country and always be good to others.
Keeping in mind to make Himachal Pradesh economically stable, the Government has adopted zero-tolerance towards corruption. When we came to power the economic condition of the State was in complete mess because of the huge debt burden inherited from the previous government and we had to take some tough decisions to bring back the derailed economy on track by generating income from the existing resources.
We have set a target to make Himachal Pradesh the most prosperous state by the year 2032", he remarked. The Chief Minister also detailed about the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aashray, stating that 4000 orphan children have been adopted as 'Children of the State' and the entire responsibility of their education has being taken by the State Government.
A Center of Excellence would be constructed in Tikri of Kandaghat area in District Solan to provide education to about 300 Divyangjans, he remarked. He also announced to provide rupees two crore to the alumni Association for construction their building.
He also released three books - 'Juni' by senior journalist Sanjeev Sharma, 'Main Aur Meri HP University' and 'Yadein Buransh Ki'. He also gave away free lifetime membership certificates of HPU alumni to four specially-abled students.
MLA Satpal Singh Satti, recalling university days said that though they had different ideologies but Sh. Sukhu was his good friend and both of them learnt the political traits from this prestigious institution. As of today, about 25 student leaders of the university were the members of the present Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He added that many people including Union Minister JP Nadda and former Union Minister Anand Sharma earned fame by achieving great heights in their respective fields.
Earlier, President of Alumni Association Prof. Chandramohan Parshira welcomed the Chief Minister and said that the association would adopt Neri of Shimla district for its overall development. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur, MLA Kewal Singh Pathania, DC Anupam Kashyap and former students of HPU from India and abroad were present at the occasion.
प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय में एससीए चुनाव करवाने के लिए संभावनाएं तलाशेगी सरकार
विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व विद्यार्थियों के मैत्री कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए मुख्यमंत्री

मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने आज हिमाचल प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय शिमला के पूर्व विद्यार्थियों (डेकाडल चैप्टर ऑफ 90’े) के दो दिवसीय ‘मैत्री’ कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ किया। उन्होंने ‘मैत्री’ के इंटरनेशनल चैप्टर का भी शुभारंभ किया।
उन्होंने कहा कि हिमाचल प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय में शिक्षा ग्रहण करने के साथ ही उन्हें बाहरी राज्यों से आने वाले विद्यार्थियों की संस्कृृति को समझने का अवसर भी मिला।
उन्होंने कहा कि अनुभव से परिपक्वता और जीवन में आगे बढ़ने के अवसर मिलते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय में रहकर ही राजनीतिक संघर्ष सीखा है। विश्वविद्यालय में बिताए लम्हों को याद करते हुए मुख्यमंत्री ने अपनी कई अविस्मरणीय स्मृतियों को भी साझा किया। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि राज्य सरकार प्रदेश विश्वविद्यालय में एससीए चुनाव करवाने की संभावनाएं तलाशेगी क्योंकि ये चुनाव विद्यार्थियों को समाज सेवा के क्षेत्र में आगे बढ़ने के अवसर प्रदान करते हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि इस सम्बंध में अधिकारियों से चर्चा की जा रही है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि विद्यार्थियों को लोभ और मोह से बचना चाहिए और समाज की निस्वार्थ सेवा करने की भावना आत्मसात करनी चाहिए। ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने कहा कि वर्तमान सरकार प्रदेश को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के लिए प्रयासरत है। राज्य सरकार शिक्षा में सुधार के लिए भी कई अहम कदम उठा रही है।
पहली कक्षा से ही सरकारी स्कूलों में इंग्लिश मीडियम पढ़ाई शुरू कर दी गई है। इसके अतिरिक्त प्रदेश के प्रत्येक विधानसभा क्षेत्र में राजीव गांधी डे-बोर्डिंग स्कूल बनाए जा रहे हैं ताकि विद्यार्थियों को पढ़ाई के साथ-साथ खेलों से भी जोड़ा जा सके। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार उच्च शिक्षा में बदलाव लाने जा रही है, ताकि नई तकनीक पर आधारित नए पाठ्यक्रम शुरू किए जा सकें।
उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार संसाधनों का सदुपयोग सुनिश्चित कर प्रदेश को देश का सबसे सम्पन्न राज्य बनाना चाहती है। प्रदेश की आय बढ़ाने के लिए कई क्षेत्रों को चिन्हित किया गया है और वर्तमान सरकार वर्ष 2032 तक राज्य को सबसे समृद्ध राज्य बनाने के लिए प्रयासरत है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि वर्तमान राज्य सरकार ने 4000 अनाथ बच्चों को चिल्ड्रन ऑफ द स्टेट के रूप में अपनाया है और 27 वर्ष तक उनकी शिक्षा और देख-रेख का दायित्व अब राज्य सरकार का है। उन्होंने कहा कि युवाओं को रोजगार के अवसर प्रदान करने के लिए प्रशिक्षित युवाओं का डाटा तैयार किया जा रहा है। जिला सोलन में कण्डाघाट क्षेत्र के टिक्करी में लगभग 300 दिव्यांगजनांे को शिक्षा प्रदान करने के लिए सेंटर ऑफ एक्सीलेंस का निर्माण किया जाएगा।
मुख्यमंत्री ने पूर्व छात्र एसोसिएशन के भवन के निर्माण के लिए दो करोड़ रुपए देने की घोषणा भी की। ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू ने इस अवसर पर तीन पुस्तकों का विमोचन भी किया। उन्होंने वरिष्ठ पत्रकार संजीव शर्मा की पुस्तक ‘जूनी’ पुस्तक का विमोचन किया जिसमें एक प्रेम कहानी के माध्यम से हिमाचल प्रदेश के अनछुए पर्यटन स्थलों का विशिष्ट रूप से उल्लेख किया गया है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने जेपी शेखपुरा की ‘मैं और मेरी एचपी यूनिवर्सिटी’ और ‘यादें बुरांस की’ पुस्तक का विमोचन भी किया। यादें बुरांस की पुस्तक में 450 लेखकों ने अपना योगदान दिया है। मुख्यमंत्री ने विशेष रूप से सक्षम चार विद्यार्थियों को एसोसिएशन का आजीवन फ्री मेम्बरशिप सर्टिफिकेट भी प्रदान किया। विधायक सतपाल सिंह सत्ती ने छात्र जीवन के दिनों को याद करते हुए कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खू विश्वविद्यालय के उनके पुराने साथी हैं।
उस समय विश्वविद्यालय का माहौल बहुत अच्छा था और सभी एक-दूसरे की सहायता करते थे। विश्वविद्यालय में आनेवाले छात्रों को हर संभव मदद प्रदान की जाती थी। उन्होंने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय के लगभग 25 छात्र नेता वर्तमान हिमाचल प्रदेश विधानसभा के लिए निर्वाचित हुए हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय में तीन विचारधाराओं का संगम होता है और यह संघर्ष की भूमि है। उन्होंने कहा कि केंद्रीय मंत्री जेपी नड्डा और पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री आनंद शर्मा सहित हजारों पूर्व विद्यार्थियों ने विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में उल्लेखनीय सफलता हासिल की है।
इससे पहले, पूर्व छात्र एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष प्रो. चंद्रमोहन परशीरा ने मुख्यमंत्री का स्वागत किया और कहा कि एसोसिएशन जिला शिमला के नेरी क्षेत्र को गोद लेकर उसमें अधोसंरचना विकास करेगी। इस अवसर पर मुख्य संसदीय सचिव सुन्दर सिंह ठाकुर, विधायक केवल सिंह पठानिया, उपायुक्त अनुपम कश्यप और देश-विदेश से आए विश्वविद्यालय के पूर्व विद्यार्थी भी शामिल हुए।
