This anime is not the best fate anime and it isn't the worst either. It's just a boring anime. Let me give you a background of myself before you start judging. I have watched all the fate anime, play fgo, read the visual novels, and even played fate extra. That still didn't make me biased enough to blindly like this anime. Let me get the good points out of the way because it's only the art and the sound.

The art was amazing and I could tell who did it as soon as I saw the characters move. The guy from bakemonogatari. The mannerisms of ...

Preliminary (5/10 eps)

I've only watched 5 episodes but this is what I've gathered thus far.

If you've played the Fate Extra games, then... don't expect that. The characters and the designs are from the first Extra but the setting is an AU. Although it also seems as though the Moon Cell Holy Grail War may have occurred before the setting of this anime. So get ready to be introduced to a different virtual reality, some kind of restart? I'm not 100% sure yet.

Also, I would like to add that Saber (Nero) uses Imperial Privilege which is a skill that she has in FGO (and I do ...

One of my favorite characters in any Anime, this show has a little virtual girl named Alice who is promised by the main character that they shall return one day to play with them. She waits for over 1000 years as her consciousness and physical body twists and deforms, absorbing fragments of a deteriorating estate reminiscient of Wonderland, until the child has taken on a monstrous appearence and has something akin to dementia. When the main character, reincarnated and dealing with their own issues of form and function, finally does return... it has long been too late. They perceive the little girl's eerie surroundings and ...

Being a huge fan of both studio Shaft's works and the Fate franchise, I came in expecting a masterpiece. Well after finishing the show I must say that it surely wasn't one, far from it, but oh was it entertaining.

Story: 6/10
Well the story itself was pretty bland. It, for the most part, follows an episodic story telling where the main characters hunt down the masters trough some type of Battle Tower-ish system. Unlike Fate/Zero or stay night where the goal is to get the holy grail, Fate/Extra: Last Encore is all about Hakuno Kishinami, a random fellow who accidentally becomes a master, yes just ...

When I started watching Fate Extra Last Encore I had high hopes. After hearing about the interesting new take on the Holy Grail War I was excited to start watching. Sadly I was let down by the boring characters and overall story.

Story - 6 - When I originally read through this shows synopsis I was intrigued by the premise. Instead of the traditional battle royale Holy Grail War this one was a simple tournament where the main character and his servant needed to traverse through different floors to get to the grail. While this may sound interesting its not the most gripping ...

Let my preface this review by saying that I've only seen the anime adaptations of fate and know close to nothing about the games. Apparently this anime is a "sequel" to one of the Fate/Extra games, so many of my gripes may be fixed by playing that. However, since I haven't played that I will be judging the anime on its own merits. That being said...

This is the worst anime I have ever seen. The story was all over the place. They tried to do something with turning the Holy Grail War into an RPG style virtual dungeon game (where ...

The story was very boring and didn't make a whole lot of sense. The action scenes were nice but they only lasted for 30 seconds. The art and soundtrack were very good. Character development was very odd and didn't make a whole lot of sense. The show has its moments but I found most of it to be very boring. The premise of the show and the story had good potential, however I did not like what the director did with it. But every single episode was just boring monologue, useless exposition, uplifting saber speech, 20 second fight scene, boring monologue, useless exposition. I vastly ...

Fate/Extra : Last Encore? More like Fate/Extra : Last End my life right now please. I beg of you.

The clear definition of Last Encore is Fatemonogatari. It literally feels the same. The difference is just that the characters look like they’re out of a low-budgeted hentai.

The story’s boring, bland, and unclear. No wonder why people kept telling me to play the PSP version or some shit. I don’t know how I spent my time watching this. Probably because I had hope that it might get better since my 10/10 streak reached about the 50th.

Well congratulations Last Encore. You broke my 10/10 streak. ...

Yet another entry of the evergrowing list of anime from the fate franchise, I was finally able to watch it on netflix just a few days ago. If you are completely new to the Fate series then be aware that there are things within this show that you'll have to piece together in order to understand. As for Fate fans, this show will be pretty enjoyable. I would recommend Fate/Extra: Last Encore to people already familiar with Fate.

The story is pretty decent, although it is pretty obvious that it is based off a video ...

At the time of writing this review, there is a trailer making the rounds online for the upcoming filmChristopher Robinin which a CG Winnie the Pooh talks to Ewan McGregor in the instantly recognisable voice of Jim Cummings. To hear this voice, which has become so ubiquitous through Disney as to be permanently associated with the character, coming from the mouth of a CG teddy bear in live action is both deeply nostalgic and unspeakably confusing. The effects of seeing the Fate franchise moved into SHAFTland are not quite so dramatic, but comparably bizarre.

SHAFT are a studio of limited gifts. Their works are instantly recognisable, ...

In terms of the fate series, this is pretty moderate, sure there's better, sure there's worse. Another male historical icon has been converted to, ahem, ~a woman~, which if you watch any of the fate series and are complaining about this fact, you sir are watching the wrong kind of medium. And if you wanted more Tohsaka, you'll definitely be satisfied, because she's relevant for the plot, but if you are just here for Tohsaka, and we know some of you will be here for those juicy thighs, you will probably just want to look up more fan art of her. Fate/extra last encore is ...

2020 Summer Review Challenge

Introduction:

To keep things simple & straight, this review is part of a challenge I’m doing with my friend. Without the conditioning of this challenge, I might as well have dropped this anime for good. However, despite all ill ends or vices, I’ll give this anime the fair share of perspective it deserves.
The review will remain subjective until the very end & will contain minor spoilers.

Fate/Extra Last Encore is a fantastic battle royale for a show but, what’s so devious about it ? Is it the slow-paced projection of a plot it offers, is it the generic characterisation, or perhaps the atypical animation ...

- Excessive Exposition and talking. Talking is not bad but requires a good script.
Dialogues are rough here.
- fighting has no choreography and sense of environment. They are talking most of the
duration of the fight.
- animation is worse than 2006's Fate/stay night
- no setup and payoff, things are introduced on short notice
- trying too hard to be serious and deep. It tries to ask questions that the original has
already asked and answered. Same questions can be asked but they should be
answered in new different manners to make this series unique but fate/extra fails to ...

Although its fine to watch, but it lacks of compassion and storytelling as much as the other fate franchise. may other say the visual isnt looking good enough, but i will rather say its 'ok' . the plot isnt so much appealing to the other series as the original or the gacha game it self. the character designs is unique in someway not like takeuchi needed always to be the art style . the memorable scene is always nero trying to show herself. if you willing to try this , give it a shot, but if you cannot proceed , then it doesnt suit your ...

Again, it’s really disappointing to give this only three stars, but for completely different reasons than Fate/Apocrypha. There’s a lot of potential here, and it’s all squandered by low budget and poor writing, I really hate to see it. I think if this had the production value of Kizumonogatari then it could’ve lived up to be a worthy successor to Fate/stay night.

The main selling point of this series is its poster girl: Nero Claudius (Saber). And she’s great! This is impressive given she’s the third gender-bent blonde saber class heroic spirit in the history of the Fate TV anime franchise. I think she’s different ...

Fate/Extra does itself a favor by being only 10 episodes long. The overall story is uninteresting, save for the time Saber's identity is revealed. What makes the show enjoyable instead are look and characters.

The art style is very unique and different from other entries in the Fate series. Seeing known characters be portrayed so differently is jarring at first, but other than that the character designs and the locations are gorgeous.

The cast, this time, is a mixed bag. The characters still aren't as likeable as the ones in F/SN but not as bland as the ones in F/GO. The appearances of known faces in this ...

Watching this you will spend a lot time listening to the characters grope through pretty basic and uninspiring existential philosophy. And why should they not? The main character has no memories, no ambitions, no idea what he should do, no idea of how he should do it if he did know. But ends up doing it all anyway.

Some great animated fight scenes but it is hard to care about them.

Rin, a favorite of all the Fate universes for a reason, is dressed like a streetwalker in this rendition. Tight miniskirt and thigh-highs. And her ...

Great anime to watch if you’re high.

So let’s be real: FATE overall is what happens when marketing becomes an anime. Create fun collectible characters (I’m looking at you gacha games), loosely (and I mean loosely) associate them with famous historical figures and throw in some random edge-lord plot lines with your typical bad And stunted JRPG characterizations. But make sure the art is good and the girls are kawaii-desuu as hell because that’s the key selling points. And it works. The plot lines also become so contrived they add a false air of depth to justify your new obsession with the FATE waifu of the ...

As a disclaimer, I haven't played the PSP game that many suggested to fully enjoy the anime. Also, I have an account on fgo, so I am a little biased as far as servants from fgo are concerned.

I am kinda confused because I have seen 13 episodes and not 10 as MAL suggests. I thought that maybe the last 3 were supplementary to the first 10. In fact, I checked the episode 10 after, and I must say that it makes zero sense if it ends there. I am very sorry to anyone who thought that the episode 10 was the last.

The art of this ...

As one would expect from a story with the premise of a computer simulation, Last encore is truly a digital spectacle with heavy surrealist influence. The outlandish visuals complement to the conflicting philosophies of the main cast and its antagonists. Outside of the signature Fate action scenes, discussions between characters cast call into question topics such as human nature, life and death. suffering and bliss.

However, to truly enjoy this anime I would highly recommend reading up on the universe of Fate Extra since the anime assumes the viewer is already informed. It's difficult to fill in the gaps without external resources since the situation on ...
